Sooryavansham (1999) is a 1999 Indian Telugu language fantasy film directed by Harish Shankar. Produced by K. Raghavendra Rao, Udaya Prasad and Venkata Lakshminarayana under the Sree Venkateswara Cine Studios banner, the film stars Krishna, Jayasudha, Sarath Babu, and Livingston in lead roles. Harish Shankar had written the film’s dialogues and screenplay. The film’s background score and soundtrack was composed by Mano Murthy. The film was recorded as a disaster at the box office. The film was dubbed in Tamil as Naanum Illaiyinum. Storyline The film begins with Dharmendra, an ordinary bank manager, saving the life of Shoban Babu’s (Sarath Babu) daughter Sravani (Jayasudha), by jumping out of a train and helping her to get on her feet. Unbeknownst to the banker, he accidentally falls in love with the lady. On hearing of his kind deed, Sravani writes to the banker to come and meet her. Hence, the banker arrives at the hospital in which Sravani is admitted and tells her that he is not married. She is upset at his response and asks him to marry her. On learning of this, the banker explains that he is a married man and has a daughter. Sravani is shocked to hear this, leaves the hospital and is ready to commit suicide. After hearing of the banker’s woes, the guardian of Sravani, Shoban Babu, takes her to his house and arranges for the banker and his wife (Livingston) to spend a few days at their home as a honeymoon. The banker and his wife meet Sravani’s friend (Krishna) in the house, who informs them of the pressure Shoban Babu is facing to marry Sravani. The banker’s wife insists that they return to their home. The banker initially refuses to go back, but eventually relents. Meanwhile, Shoban Babu’s family is hosting a birthday party for him.
